Director of Revenue


On behalf of our client, we are looking for a dynamic revenue management expert who is keen to be part of our client’s resort pre-opening team and aspire for career progression into the Director of Revenue role.

Expected to open in first quarter of 2014, the resort will be part of a ‘destination’ amidst an amalgamation of scenic tropical mountains and water springs where wildlife and marine life thrive in harmonious integration with a tourism complex of acclaimed PGA golf courses, luxury hotels, high-end residential township and shopping galleries. The town is proud of its history but is ready to embrace tourism. There is a small yet diverse expatriate community. The destination, one of the largest cities in the Middle East (not Dubai or Abu Dhabi) is a mere 20km from the airport and enjoys close proximity to all GCC countries.

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate is to maximise revenue by effectively administering revenue optimisation techniques, identifying revenue opportunities and implementing proactive selling strategies to exceed the resort’s revenue budget and topline profits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the maximisation of revenue through the combined efforts of the Reservations, Sales and MICE Sales Departments.
  • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in the preparation of month end reports.
  • Prepare necessary data required for revenue budgets and assist management team in preparing yearly budgets.
  • Ensure that the organisation’s strategies and structure are met at all times.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Goal-oriented and people-centric team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Excellent knowledge and intelligence from targeted key feeder markets including GCC and Europe.
  • Minimum three years resort experience as Revenue or Revenue & Reservations Manager in Middle East.
  • Excellent analytical and functional skills including familiarity with revenue management systems and third-party extranet channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Opera.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions in a timely and responsible manner.
  • Takes ownership to continuously improve resort’s overall performance, not limiting to topline financial performance.
  • A degree in the hospitality field would be an advantage.

 

It is an ideal opportunity for someone who has worked and excelled in a resort in Middle East looking for a new challenge. This could be for someone seeking a new challenge or an experienced number two looking for a first Director level role.  There will be potential for personal career growth as the company is well established and continues to expand its portfolio within Middle East, Africa and Asia.

 

Salary :  $3,000 per month. Accommodation in the resort will be provided for single candidate. For candidate with family, a two-bedroom apartment in the city will be provided together with transportation allowance and schooling for up to two children.
